Hazards of Loose or Damaged Carpets

Loose carpets are common and if not repaired, can lead to further deterioration, and damage, and present a hazard that could result in serious injury. The bubbles and ripples that result from loose carpeting can cause pile damage and delamination if left unattended. Ridges are a tripping hazard for you and your family and you may become liable if a guest is injured in your home.

Problems in the Carpet Industry

There is a growing problem in the carpet industry. Consumers are being sold carpets with improper stretching and installation techniques.

It is an industry standard that carpets should be 'Power Stretched'.

After a year or two from the improper installation (typically after the warranty ends), the carpet starts loosening up and wrinkling.  Carpet can also become loose, from other factors, such as delimitation, tack strip failure, or padding breakdown. Water spills, flood intrusion, and heavy traffic can exasperate the issue.

Carpet Nomenclature

Customers refer to carpet stretching by many names. Here are a few I have noted: Restretch Wrinkles, Restretch Bubbles, Restretch Ripples, Restretch Ridges, Restretch Waves, Restretch Hills, Restretch Bumps

Solutions

Call them what you will, but wrinkles, bubbles, bumps, ridges, hills, ripples, or waves that occur should be taken care of in a timely manner.

The good news is you don't need new carpet. We will fix the problem by re-stretching your carpet with the proper Power Stretching tools and techniques.  We strive for perfection.
